Northern dry deciduous forests

The Northern dry deciduous forests, also known as the North Deccan dry deciduous forests, is a tropical dry broadleaf forest ecoregion of east-central India.It covers an area of 58,200 square kilometers (22,500 sq mi), mostly in western Odisha state, with portions in neighboring Chhattisgarh. The region extends northeast-southwest in the dry western rain shadow of the Eastern Ghats range, which block the moisture-laden monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal to the east. It is surrounded by the more humid Eastern Highlands moist deciduous forests ecoregion.

Arma Konda

Arma Konda or Sitamma Konda, is a mountain peak in the northern part of the Eastern Ghats and located in Godavari River basin. It is located in the Madugula Konda sub-range north of Paderu village in Andhra Pradesh, India.At 1,680 metres (5,510 ft), Arma Konda or Seethamma Konda is the highest mountain peak in the state of Andhra Pradesh as well as in the Godavari River basin. It is also the tallest peak of the Eastern Ghats. The peak is named as Sitamma Konda in Survey of India maps.Arma Konda lies second only to Anamudi in India in terms of its topographic isolation. The peak has an isolation of 907 kilometres (564 mi).

East Deccan dry evergreen forests

The East Deccan dry evergreen forests is an ecoregion of southeastern India. The ecoregion includes the coastal region behind the Coromandel Coast on the Bay of Bengal, between the Eastern Ghats and the sea. It covers eastern Tamil Nadu, part of Puducherry and south eastern Andhra Pradesh.The East Deccan dry evergreen forests lie in the rain shadow of the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats, which block the rain-bearing summer southwest monsoon.
